Gordon Brown's wife Sarah has become something of a style icon in the last year.

She has been photographed at Glastonbury with Naomi Campbell and has held her own against former model Carla Bruni and US first lady Michelle Obama.

Now, the Daily Mail has suggested that Mrs Brown looks better than ever.

While speaking at the Labour Party Conference yesterday, the newspaper noted that she had got herself a new hair cut.

"Her brown locks appear to have lightened to a more flattering warm, golden brunette shade and her new style features a side parting with feathery layers that frame her face in a more flattering, feminine manner," Karen Kay wrote for the newspaper.

She teamed her new cut and style with an on-trend print dress with three-quarter length arms and a belted waist.

Sarah was on stage to introduce her husband at his keynote conference speech.
